The Secret - Ask you shall receive!
Good morning Toastmaster, Hello
members and Guests.
If you go to a Restaurant, what is
the first thing that you do?
The restaurant staff takes you to the
table and makes you seated comfortably.
Next you will be given a Menu card.
The menu has all the items that are available in the restaurant.
And you can choose anything from the
menu which you like and you will be served.
Now consider, if there is a menu or
catalogue of all things in this universe, either material things, or non
material things like happy, joy, wealth etc. everything, everything in this universe,
Assume somebody is giving you such
“universal Menu card” to you and ask you to choose.
He or She says that please choose
from the menu and order.
What you would order? It will be a
great experience right?
In today’s session, I am going to
introduce you the person who can give such a menu card and also introduce you
the process of ordering from that menu.
Sounds interesting?
Are you all game? Do you want to meet
the person who can give the menu and want to order from it?
I will introduce at the end of the speech.
Before that, today I want to share this Book, “The
Secret” by Rhonda Byrne with you, would like to share what I learnt from
this book and why you should read this book.
According to a recent survey, 90% of world's wealth is owned by 1% of total population. Just this 1% of rich people owns 90% of entire world's wealth. This is not an accident. This is by design. In this book, they study the common patterns from these 1% of people and try to map them to some ancient teachings. The key message of the book is, called “Law of attraction” or in simpler words, ‘Ask, Believe, Receive”.

Just a disclaimer that, this is not religious book and it is not supporting any one religion over other. It applies even to atheist.
Three things I liked from this book,
and I want to share those 3 things with you all.
First reason, the key message here is time tested and this is a collective work from multiple research and ancient texts.
Two such books are one, Bhagavat
Gita, which is a sacred book for Hindus, and the second one, The Bible,
In the bible there is a quote, Matthew
7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you:
The key message is “you ask for it,
Visualize and believe that you already have what you asked for it, then lastly
receive it”.
This book gives in simple practical
way for modern world on how to really receive it.
In one of the personal story
discussed in the book, this person, wanted a big house. He sees an image of a
house in some magazine; he cuts it and keeps it in his suitcase. He put the
message that this is my house and keeps in his suitcase.
To his surprise, after many years, he
opens some of his old items and sees this house image. He was shocked as the
new house he bought recently looked exactly the same image on the paper.
I have seen this working for in few
cases.
I want to share how it worked in some
simple things.
Recently I lost my mobile phone on my way back from Dallas to Newyork. Searched everywhere could not find, traced the airport taxi cab driver, still could not find the phone anywhere. After exhausting all possible ways , before giving up on the phone, I thought I will
apply this principle from the book.
I said to myself that my phone is
with me. I visualized an image in my mind that phone is there with me and
making a call etc.
To my surprise, after few days, I
found the phone from one of my friend. It was amazing.
Second reason is, this is scientifically proven.
Our Subconscious mind is very
powerful. It does not know the difference between Good and Bad.
Whatever you keep think same and same
again, your mind thinks that, that is what you want, even though it is
negative.
That’s what they say, you are your
thoughts.
It is scientifically proven that, we
can achieve what we want by keep enforcing the same idea again and again and
make our subconscious mind work for us.
The problem is, most of us focus on,
‘what we don’t have’. The more you focus on what you don’t have the more worse
it becomes. Because, the subconscious mind does not know, that you actually
disliking it.
It thinks that that’s what you want,
as you always think/talk about it.
This is the second rule in the book,
called ‘Being Grateful’ to what you have already.
The more grateful you are, the more
prosperous you will be.
There are few tips in the book, like
writing down in a paper the asks. For example: “I have 1 million dollar in my
bank account, and read them daily”, if money is your ask. Write the sentence in
the form that you already have it.
The author explains that our
subconscious mind works in a mysterious way and works in background ensure that
we get what we asked for.
It might look like magic or may be
little silly, but this is definitely proven.
Third reason is, there are personal stories from real life people across and
how it worked for them. There are separate chapters for each category, Money, Love,
relationship , career etc.
Conclusion:
Fellow members and guests, I urge you to take few minutes of
your life and spend reading this book.
It is worth the reading as it is a culmination of lots of
ancient works and teachings and everything in a simple way for modern world.
As per the author, we can get anything we want, be it Money,
wealth, career, new girlfriend or boy friend, anything you want.
What is Universe? Each one of us see the universe differently
based on what we see, and other senses. The universe I see is different from
someone else, because, each one of create our own universe. The universe we create is made up of our thoughts, actions, feelings and senses. No two person see the Universe the same way. If we create the universe, why not create in the way we like
it.
Remember, the menu card is with you and you can add any item
to the menu card.
As I promised you, I wanted to introduce you the person who
can give the menu card.
Any guess?
It is each one of us, each one of us has the power to create the
menu card with catalogue of whatever we want in this universe.
We create the Menu card, and we choose.
Because, each of us create our universe via our thoughts and
actions.
So we are the creator, let us create a better world.
In the Bhagavat Gita, Lord Krishna, who is the God of creation, says, ‘Aham Brahmasmi”, which means, I am the almighty and I am the universe.
Aham Brahmasmi! Thanks.
